Big Mango, Many Bays and Magnificent Views

Sunday 18th April 2021

We had a broken sleep but Madeline stayed in her bed overnight. We woke up at 615am.

The winds had picked up overnight and we entered the day with costal wind warnings.

Welcome to Bowen

After breakfast we made our way to Bowen Information Centre.

The Big Mango

We looked at some brochures and Madeline got a toy mango.

After our visit at the centre, we went to Hansen Park to the Sunday Markets.

Hansen Park is on the Northern end of Bowen at Queens Beach. The park overlooks Queens Bay.

After the markets we drove up to Grays Bay, famous for its swimming, snorkeling and fishing.

A quick trip to Horseshoe Bay, the most popular swimming bay in Bowen today it was windy, but on a good day it looks beautiful.

We drove up to Flagstaff Hill for a 360 degree view of Bowen.

We drove to Bowen Jetty to have lunch and play at the park.

After a full day out and about, we stopped at IGA to do our weekly shopping. We then returned to the van.

Around 4pm the caretakers at GlenErin and the visitors gathered for damper. Madeline was timid but managed to make some friends.

Tomorrow

Due to it still being very windy, we are staying at the farm stay. We are planning to clean the caravan inside and out.
