Week 8 – Worms, Library time and Growth

Sunday 14th March 2021

Today we woke at 715 to a beautiful sunny day. We all slept through the night.

This morning we played snap, Bubushka dolls and drawing.

We are a little bit of breakfast – French toast

We did our weekly shop this morning as well.

Eva spent a bit of time kneading some more pizza dough. Madeline, when asked, requested pizza for dinner this week.

After some lunch, we headed up to 1770. Jason spent a bit of time fishing. He caught 3 fish all up. We swam in the water and played lots of games.

We found this weird looking worm, that reminded us of a hairy caterpillar.

It’s a bristle worm

Bristle worms are a large, thick, spindle-shaped worm growing to about 200 mm long. It is easily recognised by its bright red gills, purple spots, and large, conspicuous bundles of yellow, translucent bristles on each segment. If the worm is handled these bristles break off in the skin and can cause severe irritation.

Eva did a few hours of metal detecting. She found a large amount of bottles tops, 2x10c coins , a $2 coin, some pull tops and a ring. It was a cheap, novelty mood ring.

We arrived back home after a big afternoon. We were washed up, fed and off to sleep. Tomorrow is a brand new day.

Monday 15th March 2021

Today we woke after a restful evening. Madeline was very upset to see Eva getting dressed for another week at work.

Jason and Madeline rode the bike and scootered around 1770 today.

Tuesday 16th March 2021

Today we woke to a very windy and rainy day. The rain appears to be set in. We had a bad night. Madeline woke multiple times and ended up in our bed overnight.

Eva had a patient with chest pain walk in at work, which put her behind by an hour. It turned out to be not heart related but was still taken to hospital for investigation.

Jason and Madeline had a wet weather day at the caravan. They cracked open the painting.

It’s gotten a little cool tonight so we dressed Madeline in her long sleeve pjs. I think she’s grown.

Wednesday 16th March 2021

Another wet day. A much better night sleep.

Today Jason and Madeline played in the puddles.

Eva had a good day at work. She is being inundated with females wanting a female doctor.

Tomorrow Jason and Maddie are driving to Bundaberg.

Thursday 18th March 2021

Jason and Madeline drove back into Bundaberg today. They attended the Library Giggle and Wiggle time. They read some stories, did some art and played a bit.

They did a little bit of shopping as well before returning home.

Eva spent the day doing scripts, writing out certificates, removing foreign bodies from eyes and removing a traumatised toenail.

Rain is forecast for at least another week here, but not as torrential as it has been the last couple of days.

Friday 19th March 2021

Today was a quiet and restful day at the van. Madeline had a shocking night sleep and ended up in our bed overnight, again.

All of us woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Tired and grumpy. Jason was unwell with a headache most of the day.

Eva went off to work and was glad it was Friday.

Too exhausted to cook we got fish and chips for dinner before retiring early.

Saturday 20th March 2021

After a much better sleep with only 3 wake ups, we woke up at 615. Madeline has become a hermit and puts up a fight when we suggest going outside. She has all her toys and home comforts and prefers the indoors.

Jason made a fort out of our bed yesterday and this theme continued today.

We had a slow morning just enjoying each other’s company.

We did a few loads of washing and strung up a rope under the awning as it was still raining on and off.

We went to the beach this afternoon. Eva did some detecting along the towel line. She found at least 10 bottle tops, a pair of tweezers and a sunglasses string/strap.

Jason and Madeline built sandcastles and dug holes. Madeline also collected shells for a project that she is going to do with dad this week coming.

We had home made pizza for dinner. we are all pizza’d out.

Jason went to do some evening/night fishing while Madeline went off to sleep. Not before a few much needed selfies!

That’s a wrap for this week. Looking forward to you joining us again next week.
