House sit in Moil

This week we moved into our house sit at Moil. We were minding a dog, Dobby and a cat, Kimchi.

Royal Darwin Hospital

So this week they introduced Rapid Antigen Testing for all people before entering the hospital. It was a major ordeal.

A plan was made for pre-induction rippening on January 6th and fully induction on January 7th.

Eva was admitted, poked and prodded and then it was a waiting game.

Jason was kicked out at 8pm as visiting hours on the maternity ward was over. At 9pm Eva had a cervical assessment and was only 1cm dilated. Was going to be a long night.

At 6am on January 7th Eva was awoken by the nurses, it was time for another assessment. Cervical assessment showed only 2cm dilated, so a plan was made to artificially rupture the membranes and start a drip to start uterine contractions.

Eva called Jason at 616 to tell him to make his way over, ā€œdon’t rush, have some breakfast on the way.ā€

The nurses ran the drip for 3 minutes at around 640am before realising that the contractions were coming on fast and thick without the need for a drip.

Jason skipped the breakfast and went to the ED to have his Rapid Antigen Test done. He was release with a negative result at 654am.

He arrived at the labour ward to find the nurses giving Eva nitrous oxide, Eva with her head in a vomit bag and Eva saying she needed to push.

At 710am on 7th January, Miss Charlotte Lynne Morris was born, turning our Three into four!

Eva stayed in hospital for 2 full days before discharge.
