Batteries, Filters and Parks

Monday 14th June 2021

So we dropped our caravan and car off to their doctors appointment today.

The car was likely tainted with dirty diesel and the filter was blacked with dirt. The routine service turned up little more than that.

The caravan, unfortunately, we are no closer to a definitive answer. Both batteries tested where holding appropriate voltage. After disconnecting solar input, we watch for 4hrs to see if the power would cut. It didn’t. We turned everything on, it ran fine.

Only thing pointing to an issue is our battery monitor system usually shows >199hrs when fully charged. It was still only showing 6-10 hrs remaining.

We did a hard reset of the battery monitoring system. It did nothing.

So we have brought her back to the caravan park to run a much longer test. We’ve disconnected one of the two batteries. We are charging that battery of an external charger to see if we can recharge it and if it will hold its charge.

The second battery continues to run the caravan system on its own.

Hopefully we will figure things out in the morning, now that the batteries aren’t piggybacking each other.

Otherwise

While we waited for the vehicles this morning, we walked around town. A lot remained closed on a Monday.

We went to the park and did some play.

Tomorrow

We are doing a Cobb and Co Stagecoach Experience.
