Monday 12th April 2021
We had a better night sleep last night. It was another hot evening and cool morning. We woke up at 645am to a beautiful sunrise.

Today we were going to explore Mackay town centre. We packed a lunch, our swimmers and headed off just north of Mackay to Slade Point.
Lambert’s Lookout
Overlooking Lamberts Beach, the Cumberland Islands and Slade Point.

There were binoculars to help with looking out towards the Cumberland Islands.

Mackay Harbour – J.M.Mulherin Memorial Park
We drove south to Mackay Harbour to visit “the big things.”

We played at the park for a little bit too.
Mackay
We then drove into Mackay proper. After picking up a parcel at the post office, we walked the promenade.

Op shop – St Vinnies
The more we are getting into no Telstra service areas, we realised that we need to utilise Madeline’s portable DVD player in the car.
We stopped into St Vinnies where we bought 4 DVDs and a book set for Madeline.

We went to St Patrick’s church for a visit.

The Blue Lagoon
We walked to the free water play and swimming pool on the foreshore.

We spent 2hrs playing in the water and play park. Madeline, having been very cooperative, got a lollipop.

Pleystowe
We returned to our accommodation in Pleystowe. We spent a few hours exploring the property where we are staying.

Madeline helped the owner collect chicken eggs and quail eggs. We picked some ripe passion fruit. We held a quail.

We had a look at the swimming pool. We jumped with daddy on the trampoline.

We are looking forward to having eggs for breakfast.
Tomorrow
We plan to visit Eungella NP, Mirani and Kinchant Bay to the west of us.
