Cavenagh Medical, Farewells and Friendships

Tuesday 22nd February 2022

We had a good night finally. Charlotte woke up 3 times and went down with relative ease.

It was a rainy night and overcast morning. We got up and did our usual morning routine. Today was different though, as we were going to Cavenagh Medical Centre to farewell Eva’s dear work colleagues and friends.

Eva only worked there for 6 months but the practice owner, Jeanine, and her work colleagues felt like family by the end. She has made some amazing friends and is feeling incredibly sad to leave them behind. Life is full of change, leaving is hard, but the memories live on.

Madeline is finding the thought of leaving hard to digest. As a three year old the last 7 months have been a large chunk of her life and she has started feeling like this is home. She’s excited about the adventures to come, but is sad about leaving the place we have called home.

After our work catch up, we had to pick up some more stuff for the van. We’ve loaded the jerrycan with diesel, filled the water tanks and cleaned the awning.

Sheets and towels are washed. We are gearing up for our departure in 2 days.

Tomorrow Charlotte goes to the doctor to get her 6 week check and immunisations done. Wish us luck!
