Flies and everyday life at Port Augusta

Monday 21st March 2022

Moon over the roadhouse last night

Overnight our ant problem amounted to an ant army being raised in van, attracted to the sweet smell of our baits. We packed the van and had breakfast at the roadhouse.

We then took off south east towards Port Augusta. We drove to North Tent Hill Rest Area to feed Charlotte and then continued on to Discovery Park Port Augusta.

Flat nothingness – so beautiful

After arriving and setting up at our site and Eva did a spray through the van, fumigating what ants were left. We then hit the road for lunch and groceries.

We got fuel, a case of beer and swung by the post office. Then headed back to the van.

Jason took the kids to the playground while Eva cleaned the van. Sweep, mop, cupboard cleanout and bathroom clean. Then a load of washing went on and Eva went to the van to make rissoles for dinner.

As Jason cooked dinner, the washing was folded and packed away.

Today was one of those normal everyday life days. We all have to shop and clean. We just don’t work and enjoy new places every day in between.

Tomorrow

We head West toward Kimba and Wudinna for 1 night.
