Eurimbula, Bumpy ride and Lovely views

Friday 5th March 2021

We had a good night last night. Managed to cool down to 19 outside and 23 in the van overnight. It was cool compared to 26-28 degrees in the van most nights.

Today we got ourselves ready to drive to Eurimbula National Park to have a good look at the creek entrance.

Eurimbula Creek

The creek is situated 14km west of Agnes Water on the Central Queensland coast. It can be driven to by 4WD or access by boat/kayak.

The dirt road into the creek

The road into the park was very corrugated and had patches of soft sand. Made for a little slow going with the driving.

We arrived at the Eurimbula Creek campground. There were about 8-10 camping sites that were occupied and a few day visitors.

The scenery was breathtaking.

We went for a short stroll up Bustard beach where we found hundreds of shells along the high water line.

The fishing was great with a large variety of fish. We caught a few bream, swallowtail dart and bait fish.

Jason used a bait fish on a line. It was “the one that got away!” The fish snatched the bait, ripped the rod out of the beach rod holder and bit the hook off the line. Jason rescued his rod from the water, but was greatly disappointed by the lost opportunity.

We left the beach at around 130pm and headed back home.

Afternoon

We spent sometime playing ball back at the caravan. The rods needed a clean and maintenance. We had catch up with Nanna and Aunty Bec today too.

Tomorrow

We be plan to have another stroll along Agnes Water beach and maybe an afternoon swim at 1770.
