Today we drove west to Barramundi Falls for a morning hike.
Maguk is the aboriginal name given to the region. It is a monsoonal rainforest , which still has flood waters lying around. We had to climb our way over some deep waters still on the track.

The hike in was 50% path and 50% boulders. They were covered in fine sand making them super slippery.

We had a small creek crossing before crossing the creek to the other side.

Once on the other side we started seeing some of the clear pools, downstream from the main canyon.

After clambering, climbing, slipping and sliding, we arrived.

The water was a beautiful 30 degrees and relatively clear. The abundance of fish life was well worth lugging our snorkelling gear.

On our way back to the car, Eva had a slip and fall into one of the creeks. She scratched her leg and arm up a bit. Jeez it was slippery. She recovered quickly.
Tomorrow
We visit Anbangbang, a site know for aboriginal use, art and artefacts.
