Things that go croak, Elliot Heads and 7 catches

Monday 22nd February 2021

Yesterday evening Jason walked to the shower and amenities block, only to be over run by what we assume are toads. They were jumping all over his feet.

We woke up just after 7am today after a restful sleep. We planned to go to Elliot Heads to check out some fishing and swimming spots.

Another beautiful morning
Elliot Heads

Elliot heads is a coastal town just south east of Bundaberg. It is where a large river system, the Elliot River, meets the coral sea.

We parked our car and walked down to the beach. It was a magnificent 38 degrees celsius today.

Rock pools

There were beautiful rock pools and crystal clear lagoons. The sand flats at low tide were expansive, taking a fair while to cross over to the lagoon.

We splashed, swam, collected shells, watched bait fish and fished the morning away.

We headed back to the caravan for lunch and a rest out of the sun.

We fished off the pontoon at Platypus Park where Maddie reeled in 7 little fish.

Tonight we had creamy Tuscan gnocchi for dinner. It was delicious!

Tomorrow

We are heading over to check out The Mons Repos Turtle Centre to learn all about sea turtles and their breeding.

We were unfortunate and missed out on tickets to their night hatchling tours.
