Sunday 25th April 2021
Today was another overcast day. We had a bad night with a 4am wake up and Madeline joining us in bed and refusing to go to sleep.
After a late start and wake up at 8am, we had breakfast.
Daddy went fishing this morning and Madeline and mummy played at the caravan.
We played; playdoh, fairies, did drawing, played hide and seek, read booked, played house (AKA did the washing) and played doctors.

Jason had only a little success with a hook up on a lure at a small beach inlet.

Eva was practicing with her detector at the caravan park and was approached by another person who is doing detecting. He made her jealous with his Equinox 800 and MineLab pinpointer. Eva aspires to get the upgraded model once she gets the hang of it all. Her MineLab is currently a great all rounder for learning on.
Tomorrow we finally will be out and about. The weather will be clearing up. We are wanting to walk to strand tomorrow.
Monday 26th April 2021
Today we went shopping in the morning. We did our groceries and popped into BigW to get Madeline her 3rd Bluey ball since Christmas.
After lunch we went to The Strand. Madeline wanted to go on the play equipment and Eva went metal detecting.

We then went to a little bay that Eva had done a heap of research on. She found an old location of some baths and a protected swimming area from the 1950s.

Here she found large, rusted, iron pillars in the sand, bricks and a circa 1944 three pence. Unfortunately she ran out of time as it closed on dinner time, so she will return.
Madeline and daddy had another chance to play at yet another playground.

We had homemade pizza again for dinner. Look at that puff!!

Tuesday 27th April 2021
It’s our wedding anniversary today. Eva went to her first day of locum at Townsville.
Jason had a ball playing with Madeline. They returned to ‘pirate park’ for a play.
They spent a heap of time outdoors, now that the rains have cleared.

The joys of having a toddler is that they have no social filter. Today, while visiting BCF, Madeline approached the counter with Jason and a lure to purchase. There was a employee behind the counter with a short ponytail. Madeline stated loudly “Hi Lady, can I buy this?” Jason then proceeded to say that’s a boy Madeline. Madeline then said “ok, bye boy!” This left Jason a little mortified.
This added to a comment on Monday, when a lady using the exercise equipment at the park, was instructed by Madeline that she “needed to do ALOT, alot, alot more exercise.”
Wednesday 28th April 2021
Not a lot happened today. It was raining in Townsville. Jason was entertaining Madeline indoors and under the awning.
When the rain stopped Madeline insisted on going back to the “pirate park.”

Eva has been booked out at work and is enjoying her time there. The practice has an amazing, modern layout and heaps of room to move around. She has shown so much potential one of the principal doctors has decided to take a week off and let her help look after his patients in his absence.
It’s been hard leaving the house before 7 with Madeline to drive her to work, but we are managing well.
Thursday 29th April 2021
It was an overcast day today. It’s starting to slowly warm up a bit. Today Jason and Madeline went to Toddler time at another local library.

They played games, read books and sang songs. Madeline came home with gift bag with a new book, song book, nursery rhymes book and frog bath hand mitt. The bag is designed to get parents interacting with their children through song and stories.

Friday 30th April 2021
Today was a nicer day but still had lots of rain forecast.
Madeline and daddy went to Chipmunks play centre today.
Madeline was too scared to go on anything. She has started to develop a fear of trying new things. We are acknowledging and challenging these ideas to try and get her over her anxieties.
After some time there, she started warming up to some things.

She wouldn’t go in the ball pit Jason explained that he wouldn’t make her do anything he didn’t know she could handle. He picked her up and took her in. Guess what….she loved it.

Tomorrow
We will have a blog dedicated to our day at Magnetic Island.
Looking forward to sharing our adventures.
