We drove from Adelaide to Lake Bonney Discover Parks. We did little more on this day.
Friday 6th May 2023
We crossed the border and stayed near Mildura in a small town called Gol Gol.
Saturday 7th May 2023
We drove from Mildura to Balranald. We visited to tourist information centre and Madeline went made about Balranald Frogs.
After setting up the caravan we took a stroll along the Murrunbidge river.
We looked at the Heritage Areas of the town. The town became important with trade started along the river. Two wharves were constructed which made the accessibility to the town and trade much easier. The main cargo was wool, tallow and hides from local pastoral stations.
Sunday 8th May 2023
We travelled further East from Balranald to Darlington Point, which was also on the Murrumbidge River.
Jason tried his hand at some fishing on the river, but it was so fast flowing and full of debris following the floods.
We had a relaxing day before driving onward towards home the next day.
Monday 9th May 2023
We drove from Darlington Point to Gundagai today.
Tuesday 10th May 2023
We drove from Gundagai to Bowral today and stayed the evening at Diane and Paul’s house.
Wednesday 11th May 2023
We made the final leg home, to Lin’s place, where we stayed for 2 weeks before moving to our new home in the Shoalhaven region.
