Today we left and crossed the border to The Northern Territory. We lost Telstra reception after leaving Camooweal and didn’t get it back.
Wonarah Bore Rest Area is 220km West of Camooweal. The drive showed us changing scenery from dry and empty Savannah Plains to Mallee Scrub.
It was very windy and cold on the NT Tablelands. There was red dust flying everywhere, so we spent most of the afternoon inside the van.
The flies also kept us inside. There were thousands of them, all tiny and annoying. I donned my face flynet to do some metal detecting.
We spent the night really off grid. No phones, no TV and little interruptions.
